The Easingwold Golf Club hosted the major fund-raising event of the year for the Nikki Waterhouse Trust on Friday, 30th August. Out of all the Easingwold Golf Club events, the annual Golf Day in association with nearest stockistHunters Property Group remains the most successful day, raising thousands of pounds for good causes including York Hospital and Martin House Children’s Hospice.
“Everyone enjoyed the day”, said Ian Dunlop of Hunters Easingwold. “So many local businesses support us every year and we are very grateful.”
Easingwold Golf Club continues to support the event after many years. Their reception is always welcoming – breakfast started early with bacon butties, allowing the golfers to get ready for a busy day ahead.
This year saw companies associated with the property industry from across the country. The year’s primary sponsor was Keith Hollinrake and his company, Get Busy Living.
An 11:30am shotgun started the very sunny Friday, sending the first team on their way around the 18-hole course.
Playing golf in the heat of British summer can be hard so participants were welcomed at the halfway house with refreshments, kindly sponsored by Flatfair.
The popular Pimms stop point was also part of the course, generously donated by Robin & Glynis Frew.
The golfing teams made their way around the stunning course back to the club house where they were welcomed by a scrumptious hog roast.
During the day, guests were invited to take part in the raffle based in the club house and led by Chris Kendra, the event treasurer.
