Well that’s it, another fantastic Summer of Music has officially wrapped for the year.
Similarly to the Yorkshire weather this summer, the final weekend was of decidedly mixed fortunes!
On Saturday, the wonderful 50’s – 60’s band, Jiving Licence, with lead singer Matt on vocals & acoustic guitar and with his dad playing superb 50’s period riffs on his lead electric guitar (a Fender Telecaster no less) performed. Their setlist for the music event included a sparkling version of the Safari’s instrumental “Wipeout”. Not to be left out, Matt’s sister played the walking bass lines on her bass guitar perfectly!
Oh and what a splendid sound they made together! With a warm & sunny afternoon, the marketplace was chock-full of people watching them play classics from Chuck Berry, Little Richard and Jerry Lee Lewis, as well as tunes from Creedence Clearwater Revival & the Beatles.
Indeed it's probably the best turnout the music event has seen for some time! Truly a trip down memory lane and the audience thought so too with everyone happily tapping their feet and waving their arms to the music - and many even lost their inhibitions and got up to dance.
An unforgettable day for many and this is Easingwold at its best!
Sunday. A day that should have seen everyone thronging the square and winding down with our very own Town Band – but instead it turned out slightly differently.
