Another successful Hovingham League season took place in 2023 and all the mixed tennis matches were played with very few rain postponements.
Alne A took the Division 1 championship back from Coxwold A while Wigginton A and Ryedale headed Divisions 2 and 3 respectively.
The much-loved end-of-season Brotherton Cup has just been played. Inaugurated by Miss Ann Brotherton in 1959, when she was the youngest Master of Foxhounds on record, it has been played every year thereafter.
Thirteen mixed couples took part in 2023 on a bright, sunny evening, each pair playing thirty games in Round-Robin format before the top two in each group went forward to the semi-finals.
