The Easingwold Advertiser & Weekly News is a family-owned paper for Easingwold and the surrounding area
Now in need of restoration after very many years of weathering, is the original wooden tower of St Mary the Virgin Church, Raskelf.
This tower is the only one of its kind in Yorkshire and there are few remaining in England.
Raskelf Church and community are actively raising money for its repair, and so last Saturday a Baroque Concert was held there.
Musicians - John Dunford (organ and harpsichord), Ray Ross (flute and recorder), the Vicar, Revd. Margaret Young (flute and oboe) and Nicky Woods (cello) entertained a very appreciative audience with a variety of music from the 16th and 17th centuries.
The opening piece of music played by all four musicians – 2 flutes, cello and harpsichord - was “Triosonate in G major” by Bach..
