Easingwold and District Art Society Annual Art Exhibition ...

Our Annual Art Exhibition, which was held at The Galtres Centre Easingwold on the weekend of the 12th/13th October, was an overwhelming success.

This year was particularly special as we celebrated our 20th year.

Both days saw a steady stream of visitors viewing and buying art, including some from Washington D.C.

We are so grateful to the many people who attended and supported us. We had numerous positive comments about the high standard of art on display and that there was a lovely, friendly atmosphere.

The exhibition exceeded all previous records. The new committee, Fiona, Julie, Pam and Sarah organized and welcomed over forty artists and four local art groups, displaying a wide range of styles, mediums and subject matter.

We are very grateful to all our volunteers who helped out over the weekend, including the Galtres Centre for setting up the exhibition and providing the café.

Without them all we wouldn’t have been able to organize such a large event.

The Art Pod, a local painting group, did an amazing job organizing and manning the raffle.

The lucky winners chose from a wonderful selection of prizes including original art and overflowing hampers.

An amazing £760 was raised for Yorkshire Air Ambulance. Much appreciation to everyone who bought a ticket.

One of the many highlights of the weekend was the Schools’ Exhibition. We had many excited young artists in from Easingwold Primary School, proudly bringing parents with them to admire their self-portraits.
