The women of the Sutton-on-the-Forest Branch of the Yorkshire Country Women’s Association have had a very productive and thoroughly enjoyable summer, despite the weather which did put a dampener on some activities.
After an engaging and informative talk about Fairfax House earlier in the year, we decided to visit the eponymous establishment for our Summer outing.
A delightful tour led by a knowledgeable guide was followed by a delicious lunch at Rustique and a lovely day out was rounded off with a trip to the Van Gogh experience in Coppergate.
The whole experience was beautifully organized by Judy Cliffe, who cleverly managed to arrange the entire day with only a few yards to walk between venues.
Making the most of Easingwold’s excellent bus service, the women also avoided having to pay for an expensive coach or car parking fees. That’s something which particularly appeals to frugal Yorkshire spirits!
