On Sunday Easingwold & District gathered for Remembrance Sunday with the proceedings starting and finishing in the Market Place.
To me it seemed bitterly cold but to those on Parade they handled the cool autumn air with ease, especially the younger ones who were well turned out in their various coloured uniforms.
There was an excellent turn out at the start and the end, this year even the band were in tune and in step and led the procession from the Market Place to the Church and then back again.
When the parade was returning back to the Market Place one eager motorist nearly ended up meeting the procession head on but thankfully one of the event marshal's managed to divert them off the road and to park up until they passed.
Although running a few minutes late, the service ran to clock work with wreath laying, including to those who served in the services and managed to come home and finally the last post and prayers.
