Proposals for new parliamentary constituency boundaries in England, Scotland and Northern Ireland have been published today by the Boundary Commission.
The boundaries of constituencies are reviewed periodically to account for population changes and realign constituency boundaries with other administrative boundaries that may have changed in intervening years.
The Rules say there must be 650 seats in the House of Commons, and these are allocated to each country based on the number of registered electors in each country.
There are several stages of public consultation that must be held before final recommendations are produced. My view has always been that I do not support the proposed constituency of Wetherby and Easingwold, this makes no sense from a geographical perspective, the towns being separated by the A1.......
