Bells for VE Day ...

On Thursday, Easingwold enjoyed the sounds of church bell ringing from St. John the Baptist & All Saints from 6:30 to 7:00 pm to celebrate the 80th Anniversary of VE Day.

Among the seven ringers was regular Sunday service ringer, Arthur Rogers (93 years young), who had the privilege of bell ringing at the original VE Day.

The ringers had to take special care with their rope handling as the ringing chamber was full of materials, the result of a major security system upgrade.
