The Easingwold WI’s president, Jenny, read matters of interest from the newsletter, including details of a Jazz Afternoon Tea, the Saint George’s Day Lunch with singer Nicola Mills, a visit to the RHS Flower Show at Wentworth Woodhouse, and several interesting classes.
The group are hoping to enter two teams for the Federation quiz in the Galtres Centre in May.
Unfortunately, the afternoon seated Zumba class had to be rescheduled to March, and it will be followed in the evening by the Garden Club.
The walking group had enjoyed a walk around Stillington, followed by lunch at the Golf Club.
Subject to weather conditions, the March walk will be from Overton with lunch at the Dormouse.
The cricket tea's rota for volunteers got off to a good start, preparing for the new season starting in April.
There was a lot of interest in a York Ghost Walk, proposed for June.
Entries into the Forest of Galtres Group of WI’s Craft and Produce Show are encouraged. The event is to be held in Sheriff Hutton in April, with several members offering their help with organising.
The meeting speaker was Rachel Lister Jones, discussing garden wildlife and biodiversity. Rachel works for EDCCA, but in her spare time is a nature writer and poet.
