A new broom at 2487 Sqn (Easingwold) Air Cadets ...

The Easingwold Air Cadets have a “new” Commanding Officer (CO), Squadron Leader David Walker. He is no stranger to the squadron, having been in charge in 1998. Over two decades later and he has come back for more.

The former CO, Flight Lieutenant Carl Alsop was promoted to Squadron Leader, and has taken up a post as the Training Officer for North Yorkshire.

After eight years as CO, Carl handed over the squadron banner to David in early January this year.

The new CO was straight into official public duties on the 9th of February, 2025, when a contingent of air cadets from the squadron paraded in Tadcaster to mark the 84th Anniversary of the formation of the Air Training Corps (ATC) on the 5th of February, 1941.

There were 15 air cadets from Easingwold Squadron parading with their banner through Tadcaster.
