Rhymes & Tales – Easingwold Community Library...

Saturday 2nd March, 2024

A packed Easingwold Library was treated to an evening of rhymes and tales. Three of the poets had travelled far from Leeds and Bradford and were interested in what to expect from an Easingwold audience.

The audience was quickly surveyed on their favourite alcoholic tipple. The only thing to be said is: what is said in the library stays in the library!

The evening kicked off with Kevin Flaherty, the ‘cloth cap rapper’ from Bradford. His set left the audience with huge smiles on their faces.

Rachel, a local poet, took the reins and gave attendees a few lovely readings from her new poetry book based on her nature walks in Millfield.

The first half of the event concluded with John Roberts, Pam Broadbent and Judy Field sharing some of their favourite stories from the library publication ‘101 Stories’.

Each gave a polished performance which brought every character alive. David Morris finished the first set with a lovely memory of climbing in the Lake District.
