The Easingwold Advertiser & Weekly News is a family-owned paper for Easingwold and the surrounding area
The members of the Easingwold Ladies Club had once again unanimously decided to support the York women’s refuge, part of IDAS.
Members had kindly brought items along to the meetings in October and November to create a bring and buy sale. These items included jewellery and accessories such as scarves hair adornments, tights and trinkets.
This stall proved very popular and the funds raised from this were used to purchase additional items to fill Christmas wrapping paper gift boxes filled with long life foods and toiletries.
The group also supplied tins of food such as beans, spaghetti, soups, rice puddings, tinned fruits and custard. Dried pasta and rice, plus toiletries such as soap, shampoo and conditioners and deodorants all helped to fill the many lovingly created and decorated boxes.
The clear wrapping over the items kept the goods in place and bows added a cheery festive feel.
