Stillington Squash Club - End of Season Report...

Stillington Squash Club enjoyed a largely successful season in the York and District Winter Leagues.

Captained by Anthony Baines, the men’s first team finished third out of seven in Division 1, winning eight of their twelve fixtures.

Meanwhile, the men’s second team, captained by Mark Dransfield, did not fair quite so well in Division 2, finishing fifth out of seven teams, winning just four of their twelve fixtures.

However, the team did much better in the Riley Cup Competition, which sees teams from across all five divisions, pitted against one another in a handicap format.

Stillington 2 made the final of the tournament along with Wigginton 7.

Amazingly, by the time the points were tallied and handicap applied, the final was a draw.
