Fire Engines Fill Easingwold Market Place ...

Saturday 5th July, 2025

On Monday 30th June around quarter to eleven we heard sirens wailing across the Market Place and saw a Fire engine arrive and park up near Fika Cafe.

Apparently a local builder tending to repairs to the back of the Fika roof had taken ill and lost consciousness, his work colleague called 999.

York and Acomb’s Aerial Ladder Platform appliance assisted an ambulance with the extrication of a casualty who had collapsed on a roof when carrying out work. Crews lowered the casualty with the ALP and handed them over to ambulance crews. The casualty was taken to hospital via road ambulance for treatment.

Pleased to report the casualty was back home that evening, with sunstroke being a likely cause of the problem.
