Parkrun for NHS 75th Birthday ...

Millfield Parkrun joined another 751 UK 5km parkrun events on Saturday 8th July to celebrate the 75th birthday of the NHS.

Nationally 159,046 participants were joined by the 179 at Millfield most of whom were dressed in the blue of the NHS.

Our local Millfield surgery team provided the volunteers and were joined by parkrun regular volunteers Bernie Wood and Jo Wheeler who are also NHS employees.

This NHS volunteer team was part of over 17,000 nationally making sure the events all went ahead smoothly.

Bernie provided a few facts about the NHS for the participants at the pre event brief to ponder on before the usual start at 9am.

Almost every one of the participants will have needed the NHS at some point in their life. All were grateful to celebrate this milestone and thank those who worked there and the marvellous work they do.
