FOURTH PARK RUN ANNIVERSARY ...

It has been four years since Millfield Park Run started on 22nd June 2019.

The parkrun core team decided to have a big celebration with the theme of 'four' at last Saturday's event.

Regular volunteer Helen reports -

Fortunately four volunteers paced the event in 24, 28, 32 and 36 minute vests (multiples of 4)

Foreign newcomers felt forced to join us with a female from as a far as San Francisco. None from Four Oaks or Four Throws, Kent however.

Run Director Mark forestalled the start by four minutes to forgather the runners in a group for a photograph.

Clutching his forehead he counted down four, three, two, one and the forelocks flapped as over 140 runners forged ahead on our weekly 5K course.

Fast forerunners surged ahead and the others including walkers followed.

Four formidable marshals had foregone the start to be in formal position ready to cheer on the colourful ribbon of happy participants and see them safely on their way.
