The Galtres Yorkshire Cancer Research volunteer group have raised nearly £2,000 for Yorkshire Cancer Research. They hosted a Platinum Jubilee afternoon tea to celebrate the Queen’s 70 year reign.
Guests were treated to a traditional afternoon tea including sandwiches, scones and cakes. They also enjoyed a talk from guest speaker Julian Hick. He gave an insight ‘behind the closed doors’ of Kensington Palace.
Julian has worked at Kensington Palace for 25 years. In his talk, he explored the history of the royal residence, including Queen Victoria’s life at the palace and how it came to be the home of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.
