Brandsby WI Celebrate Centenary...

What a great night our first meeting of 2023 turned out to be. January 2023 is the 100th anniversary of the first meeting of Brandsby WI which was held in 1923. Starting off with a glass of prosecco and with a lot of us dressing up in 1920s attire, there were beautiful dresses and hats and one of us even turned up as a 1920s gangster complete with Tommy Gun. Two of our members, Grace and Lynn had put together a wonderful presentation showing what Brandsby WI and its original members were like in 1923 as well as a review of prominent events from around the world. We danced the Charleston, sang “Yes We Have No Bananas” and watched clips of Harry Houdini escaping from a straightjacket and Harold Lloyd in his silent film ‘Safety Last........
