York RI vs Easingwold Hawks, kick-off 9.30am, Sunday 8 January 2023.

Easingwold Hawks U11s were back in action on Sunday morning following the festive break.

York RI were the opponents and started the game brightly. Their early pressure paid off in the first few minutes with an early goal from outside the Hawks’ box.

It sparked Easingwold into action and they started passing and moving well. The Hawks won a corner which resulted in a hand ball by a York RI defender.

Rhys converted calmly from the spot in a well taken penalty.

Both teams settled into the game and the contest was even, with the Hawks regularly catching York RI on the break.

Will sprinted down the left wing and played a through ball to Rhys who perfectly placed it in the bottom corner for his second of the game.

Further pressure from the Hawks forced a free kick on the edge of the York RI box.

Tom powered in the ball, finding Elsie who had a great shot causing a top save from the York RI keeper. York RI then had a lot of the ball down the right hand side but the Hawks’ right back Morgan was solid throughout and blocking the crosses........
