The organising committee for the Huby & Sutton Show have decided to cancel the 2025 show due to the impact of blue tongue and avian influenza.
Hopefully the show will return in 2026. Unfortunately as this notice was placed on Facebook, the publicity and coverage reflecting the cancellation may not otherwise be widely known.
The Huby & Sutton Show is the last remaining of Easingwold & District summer shows. Decades ago, the area hosted the Easingwold, Tollerton, Husthwaite shows, a Kilburn Feast, the Stillington Gala, Coxwold Fair, and other similar events.
Back in the 1970s and 80s, local shows thrived. As pubs used to close at 2.30pm on a Sunday afternoon, the beer tents at these festivities guaranteed crowds.
