Coffee, Cake and Collage!
TeaHee, a cafe in Easingwold’s Market Square, celebrates the 10th anniversary of their Art Wall this February.
Originally conceived by Rob and Michelle Helm, the Art Wall has continued to thrive under the new proprietor, Rebecca Cook. One of the walls in the main body of the cafe is transformed into an art gallery, displaying a small exhibition of original work that changes every six weeks. It provides a space for local amateur artists to showcase their work and to sell their paintings at modest prices.
Since 2015, many artists have contributed to the cafe’s art gallery with eclectic displays of delightful paintings in watercolour, acrylic, oil, mixed media, collage, and even embroidery.
Contributing artists have ranged in age from 12 to 89, and over 90 paintings in total have been sold. Every sale is a delight and confidence boost to the artist who exhibited.
It’s not just about sales - the encouragement TeaHee gives local artists is priceless, and much appreciation is due to Rebecca and her staff at TeaHee for supporting the art community.
