Easingwold WI December Report ...

Saturday 14th December, 2024

December 2024’s WI meeting was led by Linda while the group’s president was delayed. Jenny had gone on a Federation outing to Bankfield Museum and Piece Hall in Halifax. Linda presented a walk-through on how to use the WI Learning Hub. This included orientation on where each class type can be found. This resource is free to all WI members, giving access to crafting classes, guided exercise, lectures, and more. Furthermore, several lunches are being organized by the Federation, as well as a holiday to Norfolk and several workshops.

The group is currently seeking a delegate for the Spring Council Meeting in Scarborough for April 2025. With the speaker list finalised, the new programme will be available in January 2025.

The WI’s first event of the year will be a lecture on the history of the wedding gown by Kevin Thornhill. Other upcoming events include the January dinner at the George Hotel and February visit to the theatre. The monthly walks will resume in January with lunch at BATA. The group trip to Kynren for “an epic history of England” is scheduled for September 2025.
