Easingwold Friends of Cancer Research UK ...

This year, Mrs. Mary Rudd has single-handedly hosted a Christmas fundraiser, earning a staggering £530 in a few short months for Easingwold Friends of Cancer Research UK.

She has done it through knitting all sorts of items such as Christmas puddings, hedgehogs, snowmen, Father Christmases, penguins and owls. The newest additions to the knitted items available are the reindeer. Many of the Christmas fundraiser knits contained chocolate oranges, chocolate tea cakes and other surprises. They were all done to delight the eye and provide a treat for the lucky owners. They were done with great skill, for which Mary is renowned.

Once the different items were knitted, it was just a case of where to sell them. As in other years, Morning Coffee, Afternoon Tea at the New Inn came to the rescue and provided a venue for their sale.

The Easingwold Friends of Cancer Research UK committee are very grateful to Mary. She undertook all the negotiations with the staff and made sure there were sufficient resources throughout.
