Easingwold Friends of Cancer Research UK ...

This year Mrs. Mary Rudd has raised a staggering £530 in a few short months for Easingwold Friends of Cancer Research UK.

She has done it through knitting all sorts of items such as Christmas Puddings, hedgehogs, snowmen, Father Christmas’s, penguins and owls and this year a new edition in the form of reindeers.

Many of them contained chocolate oranges and chocolate tea cakes and other surprises. They were all done to delight the eye and provide a treat for the lucky owners.

They were also done with the great skill for which Mary is renowned.

Once the different items are knitted it is then a case of where to sell them.

As in other years Morning Coffee, Afternoon Tea at The New Inn came to the rescue and provided a venue for their sale.

The Easingwold Friends of Cancer Research UK committee are very grateful to Mary. She undertook all the negotiations with the staff and made sure there were sufficient resources throughout.
