Easingwold Hawks U11s vs Haxby U11s
Sunday 11 December 2022, kick-off 10.30am.
The Hawks’ match was one of the few able to take place on a freezing Sunday morning, thanks to the first-class 3G pitch at Outwood School.
It was a frantic start to the game with both sides hungry for the ball and tackles flying in from the first minute.
Easingwold settled into it as the game progressed. Rhys driving a solo effort just wide off the post. Kayden then followed up with a low drive causing a great save from the Haxby keeper. It was good football from Easingwold.
Haxby replied strongly with a long period of pressure but not getting the better of the Hawks’ keeper, Hayden.
Dawid, Tom and Morgan also stayed strong maintaining a solid defence for Easingwold seeing out the Haxby pressure.
Sam then caught Haxby on the break producing a great shot, but just catching the wrong side of the post.
Haxby won a corner 10 minutes before the break which was swept in Hawks’ goal by the Haxby’s main striker.
Easingwold did have the ball in Haxby net just before half time after Rhys skilfully took it round the keeper, but it was ruled offside by the assistant referee.
The Hawks made a couple of changes at half time and started the second half brightly.......
