Students at Outwood Academy Easingwold are celebrating exceptional GCSE results. Students from across the ability range have demonstrated remarkable resilience and dedication, achieving outstanding results that reflect the students’ impressive efforts, the high standards of teaching and learning, and the fabulous support they have received from parents and carers.
The school was delighted to discover that 82% of all entries were at grade 4—significantly higher than the national figure. Over a third of all entries secured the highest grades (9-7) which is a remarkable achievement for students attending the school.
Overall, 71% of students achieved a grade 4 or above in English and mathematics, with 60% of students gaining a Grade 5 or higher in these core subjects. This will equip them for their next steps either in education or employment. There were highlights for the academy in French where 62% of the students achieved a Grade 9-7 which is a phenomenal achievement. In addition, 59% of students gained a Grade 9-7 in Biology and in Physics 97% gained a Grade 5 or above.
Two of the standout student success stories were Joseph Copes and Isobel Bowes. Joseph achieved seven grade 9s, one grade 8 and a distinction * in Sport and Isobel Bowes, achieved eight grade 9s and two grade 8s. Joseph and Isobel were thrilled with their results and will be studying their A levels at Outwood Academy Easingwold from September.
