Norman Hartley Challenge Cup...

On Sunday, 18th August, the Easingwold bowling club held the annual Norman Hartley bowls championship, named in the memory of a long serving player.

The family, now living in Norfolk, visit every year. Hartley family members Terry and Peter who play for Thorpe Park bowls club in Norwich also took part in the contest.

24 bowlers played in eight teams and the bowls championship spanned over 4x40 sessions with a welcome tea stop half way.

Half way through the championship, it was anyone’s game. The final match saw teams F and G end on exactly the same points, so the bowls championship winner was decided on aggregate shots.
