Students and teachers at Outwood Academy Easingwold have been celebrating another successful A level results day with outstanding achievements across the board, especially with the number of students being awarded the top grades.
37% of all A level entries were awarded A*-A which is significantly above the national average and a 12% rise from 2019.
21.4% of students achieved all A*/A grades across all their A levels and a quarter of students in the year group gained at least two A grades. 63% of all entries were awarded A*-B.
Once again, students have demonstrated two years of incredible resilience, dedication and academic excellence, achieving impressive grades across a wide range of subjects. Everyone in the school community is exceptionally proud of them.
There were highlights for the academy in the English Language department, where 75% of students achieved a grade A* or an A grade which is a phenomenal achievement.
In Maths, 56% of students achieved an A* or an A grade and several of these students also excelled in Further Maths.
Luke Blackbird is just one of the many student success stories. He achieved grades A*, A*, A in Geography, Maths and English Language and has secured a place to read Geography at St Catharine’s College at the University of Cambridge.
In addition, both Alex Walker and Hannah Smith achieved three A* grades and will be progressing onto their chosen universities.
A significant number of students will now be attending university in the Autumn term studying for a range of degrees including Midwifery, Acting, Medicine, Veterinary Science, Maths, Chemistry, Geography and Journalism.
