The 200th parkrun at Millfield Park was a spectrum of emotions last Saturday, acting, in part, as a memorial run
A minute's applause was held to celebrate and remember the life of Chris Jackson and all he did as a key member of our core team. Chris (Jacko) sadly passed away recently.
He was instrumental in the work needed to establish the Parkrun in Easingwold, and it is no understatement to say it wouldn't be what it is today without him.
He was extremely supportive and a strong believer in community physical exercise to improve health outcomes and life in general.
As many people will know, Jacko was the main driver behind all the stone paths at Millfield that form most of the parkrun course.
His work is evident wherever you look in Millfields, be it the cycle track, memorial garden, improved drainage, or the many other projects that have led to the wider enjoyment of the facility.
More importantly to Millfield Parkrun regulars, he was a friend and inspiration to all. The parkrun community will really miss him.
