And finally, what is in the Picture?...

On Saturday evening, Fiona and Jet the Dog (head of security at G H Smith & Son) happened to be in Helmsley for some light refreshment.

They came across a very unusual sight of not just one small dog riding pillion on the back of a motorcycle but two, complete with goggles.

As you can imagine, Jet was rather intrigued by his fellow canines which were more California than North Riding.

We met their mistress who was riding a 650 Kawasaki Ninja who told us that the dogs loved being out for a ride with her and were certainly enjoying all the attention they garnered.

To paraphrase an old Honda advert, "you do meet the nicest people on a motorbike".
