EDCCA Easingwold Men’s shed...

Despite the heavy rain on Monday 14th August, Britcab (Tholthorpe) delivered and installed EDCCA’s community hub building. There were some interesting moments for those watching as the two sections of the structure were expertly swung over the existing building and lowered on to the base.

This new facility will provide a meeting place for EDCCA community support activities including Easingwold Men’s shed. The Men’s Shed project was first considered for Easingwold approximately 4 years ago, since the nearest Men’s Sheds are as far away as Northallerton and York.

There are now well over 500 existing Men’s Sheds in the UK. The concept of the Men’s Shed is understood to have begun in Australia in the 1980s. It has since expanded into many countries mainly Europe, America and South Asia.
